September Brings Big Changes
Woah! The summer has just come and gone like a whirlwind. If you blinked you may have missed some of the awesome stuff that God has been doing here at CBC. The fun doesn’t stop now it is only the beginning. September marks a new transitional period in the life of our church and family ministries. Let me give you a rundown of what will be changing.
1. Sunday School is getting new curriculum.
Our children and youth will be using the Gospel Project. The Gospel Project is a great curriculum that presents God’s story to the children at their level. There are many resources and even a Gospel Project App. Every week you can check out my blog and I’ll give you an update on what your child will be learning the next Sunday. My intent is to keep you informed in what your child is learning. The youth will also be doing the Gospel Project but it takes a deeper look at the Bible. The theme for the youth this quarter will be God’s Kingdom.
2. Sunday Nights will cover all ages
Another exciting element is that during Sunday nights there will be a Puppet Ministry that is starting. If your child is too old for the nursery but too young for TeamKids we have a place for them. I am so excited about this new element. The workers are excited too and ready to go!
3. Sunday Nights will be changing for the children and youth too
The children will start preparing for the Christmas play. So please bring your children so they can prepare. I know they will have fun! In January the kids will then begin to learn songs and have a time of worship. One thing you will learn about me is I am big supporter of people worshiping at their level. The youth on Sunday nights will start by worshiping with PraiseTeam and then will break up into small groups for various lessons. We are starting with three small groups to pick from. “I Am” which is a study on the I am statements of Jesus found in John. Led by Adriene Jones “Indoctrinated” a study on the main doctrines of Christianity. Led by me. The last one is called “Coffeeteria” and it will be geared for Middle Schoolers. It is about relating with friends and family. Led by Katenell
